영어성경 말씀 - John chapter 4:9~14

9. The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)  

10. Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."  

11. "Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  

12. Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"  

13. Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,  

14. but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

9.  사마리아 여자가 예수께 말하였다. "선생님은 유대 사람인데, 어떻게 사마리아 여자인 나에게 물을 달라고 하십니까?" （유대 사람은 사마리아 사람과 상종하지 않기 때문이다.）

10.  예수께서 그 여자에게 대답하셨다. "네가 하나님의 선물을 알고, 또 너에게 물을 달라는 사람이 누구인지를 알았더라면, 도리어 네가 그에게 청하였을 것이고, 그는 너에게 생수를 주었을 것이다."

11.  여자가 말하였다. "선생님, 선생님에게는 두레박도 없고, 이 우물은 깊은데, 선생님은 어디에서 생수를 구하신다는 말입니까?

12.  선생님이 우리 조상 야곱보다 더 위대하신 분이라는 말입니까? 그는 우리에게 이 우물을 주었고, 그와 그 자녀들과 그 가축까지, 다 이 우물의 물을 마셨습니다."

13.  예수께서 말씀하셨다. "이 물을 마시는 사람은 다시 목마를 것이다.

14.  그러나 내가 주는 물을 마시는 사람은, 영원히 목마르지 아니할 것이다. 내가 주는 물은, 그 사람 속에서, 영생에 이르게 하는 샘물이 될 것이다."
